Questions
Yes — commercial drone operation requires a remote-pilot certificate in most countries (a Part 107 certificate in the US, an A2 or GVC in the EU). Skylark itself sits in the sub-25 kg class, so it does not need special airframe certification. You are responsible for registering the aircraft and respecting local airspace rules.
With an RTK fix Skylark holds 1 cm horizontal and vertical absolute accuracy, plus 1 ppm for distance from the base. Across 312 verification flights it matched survey-grade checkpoints with no ground control points placed. For legally binding cadastral work we still recommend a handful of independent checkpoints — best practice, not a limitation of the drone.
Cloud is optional. The Skylark app processes orthomosaics, point clouds, and volumes entirely on-device, which matters on remote sites with no signal. Skylark Cloud is faster for very large datasets and adds team sharing and version history — the Survey Kit includes a year of it, and it is a paid add-on otherwise.
Six-direction binocular vision covers forward, backward, left, right, up, and down, detecting obstacles out to roughly 30 m. During automated missions Skylark will slow, route around, or hold position rather than push through. Vision systems struggle with thin wires and in low light, so keep visual line of sight and plan conservative altitudes near infrastructure.
The 2-year warranty covers manufacturing defects. Accidental damage is handled through Skylark Care: a flat repair fee, or a replacement airframe shipped within five business days while we assess yours.
