The 7am front lawn
Mows before the neighbourhood wakes — at 58 dB nobody files a complaint.
Roam is a wire-free robotic mower for lawns up to 0.75 acre. Map the yard once on your phone — it cuts on schedule, parks itself in the rain, and recharges on its own.
Awarded & reviewed by people who’d rather not mow
Three things make Roam different from the robot mowers that came before it — no buried wire, a deck that actually cuts, and a lock that travels with the machine.
No trench, no buried perimeter wire, no weekend with a spade. Walk the edge of your lawn once in the app and Roam holds that boundary to within two centimetres — every mow, in every season, as the grass grows in.
Twin RTK antennas correct each other in real time, so it stays accurate under trees and beside the house where plain GPS drifts.
Three pivoting razor blades on a 22 cm deck mulch clippings back into the lawn as fertiliser — no bag to empty. All-wheel drive pulls Roam up slopes as steep as 24°, and a rain sensor sends it back to the dock when a downpour starts, so it never tracks mud across wet grass.
A built-in LTE radio means Roam is reachable even with the Wi-Fi off. Set a geofence around your property and you get a push alert the moment the mower crosses it — with a live location you can hand straight to police.
Lift it off the lawn and a four-digit PIN is required before the blades will spin again. To a thief it’s a tracked, locked brick — which is exactly the point.
Set it up on the sofa. The free app — iOS and Android — is the only remote Roam needs, and there is nothing extra to pay for it.
Paint cut areas, exclude flower beds and the trampoline, and give each zone its own cut height.
Pick days and times, or let Roam plan around the weather forecast and recent rainfall.
Guests on the way? Send Roam out for a single pass, then straight back to the dock.
Every pass logged with area covered, runtime and battery used — handy when grass looks uneven.
Navigation and battery improvements arrive automatically, installed overnight on the dock. Roam genuinely gets better after you buy it — current build v4.2.1.
Every figure that matters before you clear a corner of the garage for the dock.
A full 5.0 Ah pack runs Roam for about 90 minutes — enough to finish a 0.75-acre yard before it docks itself. A flat battery is back to full in 65 minutes, so a missed slot is caught up the same day.
No optional perimeter kit, no separate antenna to source. Roam ships ready to map and mow the same afternoon.
Roam was built for ordinary suburban lawns — the front strip, the sloped back, the bit by the fence nobody likes pushing a mower across.
Mows before the neighbourhood wakes — at 58 dB nobody files a complaint.
All-wheel drive holds a 24° bank that a push mower slides down.
RTK accuracy lets it cut a clean line right to the boundary edge.
The rain sensor sends it home before a downpour, then it resumes once dry.
One price, in full. Free delivery, a 3-year warranty and 30 days to send it back if your lawn and Roam don’t get along.

“Our back garden drops away at the bottom and I was sceptical. Roam climbs it without slipping and the mulched clippings have actually thickened the grass. Kids and the dog ignore it completely now.”
“I travel for work, so the LTE tracking mattered. It pinged my phone the one time it nudged past the geofence near the gate. Four stars only because I’d love a wider deck — the cut quality itself is excellent.”

No. Roam navigates with RTK-GPS, accurate to about two centimetres, so there is no perimeter wire to trench, staple or repair. You set the lawn up once: open the app, walk Roam slowly around the edges, and mark any flower beds or features to avoid. That virtual boundary is saved and reused for every mow — and you can redraw it in seconds if your garden changes.
All-wheel drive lets Roam climb inclines up to 24 degrees — steeper than most suburban back gardens. A front bumper sensor detects fixed objects like trees, planters and garden furniture, so it slows, contacts gently, then steers around them. Lift and tilt sensors stop the blades instantly if it is picked up or tips, and the rain sensor parks it on the dock during heavy rain.
Safety drove the design. The three blades sit recessed well inside the chassis and pivot back on contact rather than driving through. A lift sensor cuts blade power within milliseconds the moment Roam leaves the ground, and the bumper makes it ease off when it meets anything solid. It also moves at a deliberate walking pace. We still recommend keeping very young children supervised in the garden — as you would around any powered tool.
None. The Roam app is free on iOS and Android, and every feature — zone mapping, scheduling, Mow now, mow history and over-the-air firmware updates — is included for the life of the mower. The built-in LTE that powers theft tracking is covered too: there is no separate SIM to buy and no monthly connectivity fee. The price you see is the only price.
Every Roam comes with a 3-year warranty covering the mower, the battery and the charging dock for both parts and labour. If something fails, start a claim in the app or by email and we send a prepaid shipping box — most repairs are turned around within five working days. Wear items such as blades are not covered, but spares are inexpensive and the box includes nine to start. You also have 30 days from delivery to return Roam for a full refund.
