Clause library

Pre-approved clauses,
drag right into the draft.

Your legal team curates a versioned library. Sales reps pull approved language without pinging Slack at 11pm. Every clause carries its risk tier and approval rules with it.

  • Risk-tiered (green / amber / red) with auto-routing rules per tier
  • Versioned with change history and outside-counsel sign-off
  • Multi-jurisdictional variants (US, EU, UK, DACH, APAC)
  • Usage analytics — which clauses get redlined most by counterparty

  • Conditional routing on 28 contract attributes
  • SLA tracking with auto-escalation at 80% breach
  • Slack / Teams notifications + mobile sign-off
  • Immutable audit log · SOC 2 evidence-ready exports

The diff

What changes when Pact arrives.

Without Pact
  • 47 days from term sheet to signature
  • 12 versions of the same MSA floating around in email
  • No audit trail — who approved that liability cap?
  • Legal becomes the bottleneck on every redline cycle
  • Renewal dates discovered in QBR slides, not contracts
  • $1,800–$4,200 in outside counsel review per deal
With Pact
  • 6 days median, 1 day on standard MSAs
  • Single source of truth — every redline tracked, every approver named
  • SOC 2 audit log, exportable in one click
  • Legal designs the rails, AEs run inside them
  • Renewal & obligation dates surfaced 90 / 60 / 30 days out
  • Outside counsel only for the truly novel — typically 1 of 12 deals

"We used to estimate 7 weeks from first redline to signature on enterprise deals. After 90 days on Pact, that's 11 days — and our GC actually has weekends back."

Brightwave moved 142 active contracts into Pact in a single migration weekend. Their legal team rebuilt the clause library in 3 days. By month 2, redlines from outside counsel were flowing through Word integration without anyone touching email.

FAQ

Things sophisticated buyers ask us.

How do you handle redlines from outside counsel using Word? +

Pact round-trips with Word .docx natively — tracked changes, comments, formatting all preserved. Counsel can edit in Word offline, return the document, and Pact diffs it into your contract automatically with the original commenter attribution intact. We support OOXML, .docm, and locked PDFs (with reconstruction).

What's your data residency policy for EU customers? +

EU data stays in the EU. We run a dedicated AWS region in Frankfurt (eu-central-1) with no cross-region replication to US infrastructure. You can pin your tenant to EU at provisioning and verify residency via our trust portal. We're GDPR-compliant, signed by a DPO, and our DPA is available pre-signed without negotiation.

Does it integrate with Salesforce CPQ? +

Yes — we're a Salesforce ISV partner with a packaged AppExchange listing. Pact reads quote line items, products, and pricing directly from CPQ and merges them into your contract template. Approvals can be conditioned on CPQ fields (discount %, term length, ramp schedule). Round-trip status updates flow back into Opportunity records.

How does the AI clause approval work — does my legal team review the model? +

The "AI" is narrow: it suggests matches between counterparty-proposed language and your existing approved clauses, with a confidence score. Your legal team reviews and ratifies each match the first time a pattern appears, then it auto-approves. We don't train any shared model on your contracts — every tenant has an isolated suggestion index, deleted on offboarding within 30 days.

What about e-signature — do you replace DocuSign or layer on top? +

Both work. Pact has a native e-signature engine (ESIGN / eIDAS-compliant, includes notary integration for QES) for customers who want one fewer vendor. If you're already standardized on DocuSign or Adobe Sign, we orchestrate them — same approval rails, signatures captured through your existing provider with no additional envelope fees.
