How does Pacelane calculate the readiness score?+

We weight four inputs against your personal 60-day baseline: overnight HRV (40%), resting heart rate (25%), sleep duration & debt (20%), and acute-to-chronic training load (15%). It recomputes the moment your watch syncs each morning.

Does it drain my watch or phone battery?+

The watch app uses your existing GPS session — no extra sensors — so there's no measurable hit. On the phone, the coaching model runs on-device only when you open a run, typically under 400ms, and never in the background.

Do I have to wear a chest strap for accurate zones?+

No. Pacelane derives your threshold from race-pace efforts and corrects for wrist-optical lag, so wrist HR is enough for zone training. If you do pair a strap, we'll use it automatically and tighten the zone boundaries.

Can I import my history from Switchback or Garmin Connect?+

Yes — a one-time bulk import pulls up to 5 years of activities so your baselines are accurate from day one. We keep the two-way Switchback sync on so your runs still post to your feed.

What happens to my plan if I get injured or skip a week?+

Tell Pacelane you're hurt and it switches to a return-to-run protocol, rebuilding volume by ~10% per week. Skip a week and it reflows the block toward your race date instead of dumping every missed session into Monday.
