Maya's older sister and lifelong steadying hand — the first call for every joy and every worry.

We're getting married
Saturday, the twentieth of June, two thousand twenty-seven
Ashford House · Charleston, South Carolina
Where it began
We met at a friend's wedding in the spring of 2019 — seated, by some quiet act of fate, at the same table. Daniel asked Maya to dance before the band had quite finished tuning. She said yes, mostly to be polite. By the last song, neither of us wanted the night to end, and we have been finding our way back to each other ever since.
Eight good years
Eight years of small apartments and long drives, of a stubborn rescue dog named Biscuit, of learning each other's coffee orders by heart. We are not the same people who danced that night — we are better, and we are sure, and we are ready.
The proposal
Last June, Daniel suggested a walk through the gardens at Ashford House — the very estate where we will marry. Beneath the old magnolia at the end of the long path, he knelt. Maya cried before he finished the question. We will say our vows within sight of that exact tree.
A short chronology
The garden
“We have known for years. The garden simply gave us the date.”
The dearest people we know — the ones who have carried us here, and who will stand with us under the magnolia.
Maya's older sister and lifelong steadying hand — the first call for every joy and every worry.
Daniel's college roommate and unfailing co-conspirator since a draughty dorm in 2011.
Maya's roommate from her first Charleston apartment — and the friend who introduced the couple.
Daniel's younger brother, best fishing partner, and the family's resident peacemaker.
Maya's friend since the seventh grade and the keeper of every embarrassing story worth telling.
A friend of them both since that very wedding in 2019 — proof the night kept on giving.
From the first vow to the last dance — how the evening will unfold at Ashford House.
We exchange our vows beneath the magnolias on the south lawn. Please be seated by 4:15. The ceremony is unplugged — phones away, hearts open.
Lowcountry hors d'oeuvres, garden cocktails, and a string trio on the lawn while we steal away for portraits.
A seated supper in the glass orangery — three courses, candlelight, and a few words from those who know us best.
The band plays, the doors open to the terrace, and we dance until midnight. A late-night bite arrives around eleven.
Shuttles return to the hotels at midnight — do stay for the last song.
Everything you'll need to find us — and somewhere lovely to rest your head.

Complimentary valet parking is available at Ashford House. We also encourage the shuttles — they run from all three hotels beginning at 3:30 PM and return at midnight, so no one need worry about the drive.
Charleston International Airport (CHS) is roughly forty minutes from the venue. Make a weekend of it — June in the Lowcountry is warm and golden, and the city is at its very best. See things to do below.
A few of our favorite corners of Charleston, for the guests lingering a little longer.
Lowcountry cooking on Wentworth Street — shrimp and grits worth the trip alone. Book ahead for dinner.

Truly, the greatest gift is your company under the magnolias. For those who have asked, we've gathered a few thoughtful options — and we're grateful for every one.

Contribute a memoryIn lieu of a gift, a donation to the trust that protects the marshes and oaks we love so dearly.
Make a donationNo matter the gift, your being there is what we'll remember.
More to come — we cannot wait to add the twentieth of June to this collection.
A few details to help the day go gently. Anything we've missed — just ask.
Black-tie optional. We'd love to see you dressed up — floor-length gowns, cocktail dresses, or a dark suit are all perfect. The ceremony and cocktail hour are outdoors on grass, so a block heel may serve you better than a stiletto.
As much as we adore your little ones, we've planned an adults-only reception so every guest can relax and celebrate fully. We hope this gives parents a cherished evening off — and we're happy to suggest trusted local sitters if it helps.
The ceremony will be held in the estate garden, weather permitting. Should June bring a Lowcountry shower, an elegant tented pavilion on the lawn is ready as our weather plan — the day will be just as lovely, simply with a roof.
Complimentary shuttles run from all three hotel room blocks — The Loxley, Harborlight Inn, and The Maybank Lodge. They depart for Ashford House beginning at 3:30 PM and make the return trip to each hotel at midnight. We warmly encourage the shuttle so everyone can enjoy the evening worry-free.
Yes — we kindly ask that phones and cameras be put away during the ceremony. We've a wonderful photographer to capture every moment, and we'd love to look out and see your faces rather than screens. You're most welcome to photograph freely once the dancing begins.
Please send your reply by the first of May, 2027, using the RSVP form above. It helps us share a final headcount and menu with Ashford House — and we simply cannot wait to know you'll be there.
One last thing
Eight years have brought us here. We'd be honored to share what's next with you.
We can't wait to celebrate with you.
