Why ours survive

A plant from a warehouse arrives in shock. Ours arrives moved-in.

Most online plants ship the day they're cut, straight from a wholesale grow tent at 90% humidity into a cardboard box. They reach your apartment, hit 40% humidity, and drop half their leaves in a week. We hold every plant in a stepped-down room for three weeks first — so the version you unbox is already used to living where you live.

  • 21-day acclimation in a stepped-down humidity room before any plant ships.
  • Soil we mix ourselves — coco coir, worm castings, pumice. Never peat.
  • 30-day stay-alive guarantee. If it doesn't make it, we replace it once, free.
  • Carbon-balanced shipping in cornstarch packaging that composts.

"I've murdered four monsteras from other shops. This one's pushed out three new leaves since March — and it came already on a moss pole."

"The packaging composted in my bin in six weeks. The pot was glazed by hand. I expected a plant; I got a whole little ritual."

"One leaf yellowed in week two, I sent a photo, and a replacement shipped the next morning with no argument. That's the whole guarantee, working."

Before you buy

The things people ask at the register.

How exactly does a live plant survive shipping in a box?+

It's already adjusted to lower humidity before it leaves us, so the box isn't a shock. We brace the root ball with a biodegradable collar, ship Mon–Wed only so nothing sits in a depot over a weekend, and include a heat or cold pack automatically when your forecast calls for it.

What happens if my plant arrives damaged or dies in the first month?+

Send one photo within 30 days and we ship a replacement free — no return label, no debate. It covers shipping damage and decline, not a pot you knocked off the sill. Median time from photo to a replacement shipping out is 19 hours.

Is your soil safe around cats and dogs?+

The soil is — coco coir, worm castings, and pumice, with no synthetic feed. The plants vary, so every product page flags pet-safe vs. toxic, and you can filter the shop to pet-safe only. The snake plant and pothos are mildly toxic; the calathea and parlor palm are safe.

Can I pause or skip a soil-refill shipment on the plan?+

Any time, from your order email — skip the next box, push the cadence to 12 weeks, or pause the whole plan for the winter. There's no minimum commitment and cancelling takes one click; we don't make you call anyone.

Do you ship internationally or only within the US?+

Live plants ship to the lower 48 only — phytosanitary rules make crossing borders rough on a plant. Soil, pots, and tools ship to Canada and the UK with calculated duties shown at checkout. We're working on Hawaii and Alaska for spring.
