"If I had to Google an ingredient, it didn't go in the bag."

— Priya Anand, founder
Our Story

It started with reading the back of the box.

Crumb began on a Tuesday in the snack aisle. Our founder, Priya, was holding two boxes of "healthy" crackers and squinting at the back of each one. One had a list of seven things. The other had twenty-six — half of them she couldn't pronounce, and a few she had to look up later at home.

She didn't love the homework. So she went home and made crackers from what was already in the cupboard: whole wheat flour, a few seeds, good olive oil, salt, a sprig of rosemary from the windowsill. They were better. The kids ate the whole tray. The recipe fit on one line.

That one-line rule is the entire company now. No seed-oil filler to cut costs. No gums to fake a texture. No preservatives to buy another six months of shelf life. If a real cook wouldn't reach for it, it doesn't go in the bag — and the label always tells you the truth.

What's inside

You can pronounce all of it. We checked.

Here's the entire ingredient list for our Rosemary & Sea Salt cracker — printed in full, because there's nothing to hide behind a "natural flavour".

Rosemary & Sea Salt — full ingredient list

Stone-ground whole wheat, sunflower seeds, golden flax, sesame, cold-pressed olive oil, sea salt, rosemary. That's the whole list.

7 ingredients Whole grains No preservatives Vegan

+ What's always in

  • Whole grains first. Stone-ground whole wheat or whole oats lead every recipe — never refined-flour padding.
  • Cold-pressed olive oil. The only oil we bake with. It costs more; it tastes like food.
  • Real fruit, real seeds. Actual dried cherries and freeze-dried berries — never "fruit-flavoured pieces".
  • A list you can read aloud. Every SKU is 5–9 ingredients, printed in plain words.

What's never in

  • Seed-oil filler. No canola, sunflower or palm oil used as a cheap base. None.
  • Gums & stabilisers. No xanthan, no guar, no carrageenan faking a texture.
  • Preservatives. Nothing added to stretch shelf life — we bake in small, fresh runs instead.
  • "Natural flavours." An ingredient is either named in full, or it isn't in the bag.

The cracker the cheese board waits for.

Our Rosemary & Sea Salt cracker is the one people re-order on a subscription. Crisp, properly seeded, with rosemary that tastes baked-in rather than dusted-on — sturdy enough for a wedge of cheddar, good enough to eat straight from the bag.

Good questions

The label, in plain words.

Allergens, sugar, and what's right for little ones — the things parents actually email us about. Full nutrition is on every product page.

Still unsure? Email [email protected] — a real person on the bakery team answers, usually same day.

What are the allergens? +

It depends on the line. The seeded crackers contain wheat and sesame. The granola contains oats and almonds. The fruit-and-nut bars contain tree nuts — almonds or cashews depending on the flavour. Every bag prints its allergens in bold, and our bakery handles nuts, so a "may contain" note appears on all crackers as a precaution.

Is it nut-free / gluten-free? +

Per line: the seeded crackers are nut-free in recipe, but they contain wheat, so they are not gluten-free. The granola contains almonds and is made with oats. The fruit-and-nut bars contain almonds or cashews — but they are gluten-free, with no wheat in any bar. If you need strictly nut-free, the crackers are your line; if you need gluten-free, the bars are.

How much sugar? +

Very little, and never refined. The seeded crackers have 4g of sugar per 142g bag — most of it natural to the whole wheat. Granola is sweetened only with a touch of raw honey, around 6g per serving. The bars get all their sweetness from the dried fruit itself — no added sugar, no syrups, no juice concentrate.

Is it kid-friendly? +

That's who we made it for. The crackers and bars are lunchbox staples — mild flavours, sturdy enough not to crumble in a bag. The bars are individually wrapped in kid-sized portions. One note for parents of under-fours: whole nuts and seeds can be a choking hazard, so we'd suggest the granola and bars from school age, and breaking crackers into smaller pieces for toddlers.

Do you offer a multi-pack or a subscription? +

Both. There's a 3-flavour cracker Multipack at $14.50, and the Snack Drawer — a build-your-own box of any 6 SKUs across all three lines. Put the Drawer on a subscription and you save 15% with free shipping, delivered every 2, 4 or 6 weeks. You can skip, swap flavours, or pause from your confirmation email any time — no lock-in.
