The Cortado
2.40Our house Brazil-Ethiopia blend, pulled short, equal milk. The drink half of Gràcia orders by name.
A corner café on a quiet street in Gràcia. We roast in the back, bake before light, and keep the music low enough to read by. Sit as long as you like.
Everything is mixed the night before and baked while the street is still dark. Bread comes out at seven; the croissant trays don’t make it to nine. Order a loaf ahead and we’ll keep it under the counter with your name on it.
“I’ve written most of a novel at the corner table. Nobody has ever once asked me to order again.”
“The best cortado in Barcelona and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. The cardamom buns are a close second.”
“They learned my order in a week and my daughter’s name in two. It’s the closest thing to a living room I have here.”
No bookings for coffee — just come. Tables for lunch can be held; ring or email and we’ll keep one by the window.

We’re on the corner of Verdi and Travessera, the one with the lemon tree out front. The kettle’s already on.
