Our story

How we met
We met during a September crush, both of us volunteering for harvest at a small Dundee Hills vineyard. Elena was sorting fruit; Thomas was hauling bins and pretending he knew what he was doing. By the third day we were trading sandwiches at lunch, and by the last we were the only two still talking long after the press had stopped.
Two years, two cities
Then came two years of long distance — her in Portland, him in San Francisco — measured out in airport pickups, shared playlists, and Sunday phone calls that ran until the wine ran out. We learned that the valley always felt like the place we were both heading back to.
The proposal
Last October, Thomas asked Elena to walk the rows at sunset "to check on the vines." Between two trellises, with the hills going gold and a heron lifting off the river, he got down on one knee. She said yes before he'd quite finished the question.
A short history
By our side
The dearest people we know — the ones who'll stand with us beneath the vines.

Bridesmaid
Elena's roommate through every Portland apartment — and the calmest person at any gathering.
Groomsman
Thomas's younger brother, official toast-giver, and the only one allowed to tell the old stories.

A friend from that very first harvest — proof that the vineyard gives lasting things.
Groomsman
The friend who flew in for every long-distance birthday — now flying in for the best one.

Venue & travel
Tucked into the hills outside Newberg — about forty minutes southwest of Portland.
The venue
A family-run estate on the western edge of the Willamette Valley, planted four decades ago by Elena's grandparents. Forty acres of Pinot Noir, a hand-built garden pavilion, and the old oak the whole family has gathered under for generations.

Good to know
A few things guests often ask. Anything else — just write to us.
Garden formal. Think soft suits, flowing dresses, and warm fabrics for an Oregon evening. The ceremony, dinner, and dancing all take place on grass and gravel, so we warmly recommend flat shoes or block heels — your feet will thank you under the oak.
Absolutely — little ones are welcome and we'd love to see them. The vineyard is a wonderful place for children to roam, with lawn games and plenty of space. Just note the day is mostly outdoors, so dress them for the grass and a cool evening.
The day is almost entirely outdoors — the ceremony among the vines, dinner under the garden pavilion, and dancing on the oak lawn. September evenings in the valley can turn cool after sunset, so bring a light layer. We'll have blankets and heaters on hand, and a covered pavilion should the weather surprise us.
The nearest towns are Newberg, Dundee, and McMinnville, all a short drive from the vineyard. We've held room blocks at The Allison Inn in Newberg, The Dundee Lodge, and Hotel Oregon in McMinnville — see the Travel section above for details and our block rate.
The vineyard sits up a quiet country road, so carpooling is encouraged — it's kinder to the gravel drive and far more fun. If you'd like a ride or have a seat to offer, let us know in your RSVP note and we'll happily help connect guests staying nearby.
Please plan to arrive by 4:30 PM so there's time to park, find a glass of estate rosé, and walk the garden path to your seat. The ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 PM among the vines.
With love & gratitude
We found each other among the vines — and we'd love nothing more than to begin here, with you.
Can't wait to celebrate with you.
